Works & Process at the Guggenheim Presents American Ballet Theatre: Jessica Lang & Sarah Crowner

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents American Ballet Theatre: Jessica Lang & Sarah Crowner on Sunday and Monday, October 7 and 8, 2018 at 7:30pm.

Since 1940, American Ballet Theatre has been a home for emerging choreographers and artists. This season, as part of the ABT Women's Movement initiative, choreographer Jessica Lang collaborates with artist Sarah Crowner, whose work is included in the Guggenheim's permanent collection, for Lang's third work for the company. Join Lang and Crowner, moderator John Meehan, and dancers from American Ballet Theatre for an intimate evening of dance and discussion prior to the ballet's premiere. The ABT Studio Company will also perform Le Jeune by Lauren Lovette.

Audience members are invited to experience Sarah Crowner's site-specific installation inside The Wright restaurant at the Guggenheim, featuring handmade terracotta tiles installed on the floor and two walls of the restaurant, and a backdrop made of raw and painted canvas cut, arranged, and sewn together. The Wright restaurant will be open before the performance, from 6:30pm - 7:30pm and feature a cash bar, to enjoy a drink while viewing the installation.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, has championed new works and offered audiences unprecedented access to generations of leading creators and performers. Most performances take place in the Guggenheim's intimate Frank Lloyd Wright-designed 285-seat Peter B. Lewis Theater.
