Fresh off of nine sold-out shows throughout the Poconos, Catskills, and Fire Island, drag troupe WIGSTICKS makes its New York City debut with "Head for the Heels" at the Kraine Theater (85 W 4th) for two shows Wednesday, November 8th, at 7pm and 9pm.

First conceived by Steady Mess and Timorell in 2009, the inappropriate, live-singing, drag-theater experience has lit up stages at Forestburgh Playhouse, Arts Project of Cherry Grove, and the Milford Theatre. Drag legend Lady Bunny calls the show "raunchy, hysterical, and highly recommended!"

The production features parodies and reimaginings of music ranging from "Desperado" to "My Simple Wish" to "The Circle of Life." Current troupe members include Steady Mess, Ginger Meringue, Ruby Powers ("At the Baths" at Pangea), Ember Rosé, Jo Lee , and Portia Contról with Timorell providing music direction and accompaniment.

"The goal was always to be over-the-top and just have fun. That's what drag is all about!" says Steady Mess. "Audiences never know what to expect at our shows and we're thrilled to finally take the show to Manhattan."

Tickets are $25, with late seating at management discretion: http://www.horsetrade.info/the-kraine-theater
