As part of the Makor Around Town series, Makor will present "The New Face of Drama: Eight Rising Theater Stars," featuring a discussion between an octet of upcoming playwrights.

The event will take place on Monday, September 10th at 8 PM. Pulitzer Prize-winning dramatist Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive) moderates a discussion of theatrical trends and transitions, presented by Makor and Playwrights Horizons. On the panel are eight of the most promising young dramatists working today, including MacArthur Fellowship recipient Sarah Ruhl, Jordan Harrison, Kate Fodor, Michael Friedman, John Dempsey, Rinne Groff, Sarah Treem and Adam Bock.

The eight writers - Fodor (100 Saints You Should Know), Treem (A Feminine Ending), Harrison (Jordan to Darlene: A Cautionary Valentine), Ruhl (Dead Man's Cell Phone), Bock (The Drunken City), and Groff, Dempsey and Friedman (Saved) comprise the slate of authors from Playwrights Horizons' upcoming 2007/2008 season.
