The world's largest solo theatre festival, which began its eighth season at Theatre Row in New York City on September 14th, is proud to introduce the United Solo Master Series, an educational program for current and aspiring theatre artists. A Master Class taught by Pau Aran Gimeno, performer from Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, will inaugurate the program.

The United Solo Master Series will be taught by distinguished artists and cultural icons, and serve as training customized to fit the needs of the solo theatre community-including artists from past United Solo Theatre Festival seasons, artists performing at the Festival this season, and artists applying to perform in the future. The United Solo Master Series is open to all members of the theatre community, and will feature a variety of classes in movement and voice, writing workshops, professional development, and training in specific acting techniques. "For years, United Solo gave artists from around the world a platform to share their work with The New York community. Now, United Solo is thrilled to invite seasoned and emerging artists to develop their craft, explore performance techniques, and workshop their shows together," says Ilya Khodosh, professional training program manager at United Solo.

The first class, "Expressive Movement," is scheduled for Thursday, September 21 at 11:00 AM, and will take place at Theatre Row, where United Solo is a resident company. "With exercises based on technique, composition, improvisation, and body narrative, we will open up space to dialogue with ourselves and others," says Pau Aran Gimeno, a renowned artist currently performing in "Café Müller/The Rite of Spring" at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music.

"With Pau, our first class is indeed guaranteed to be a first-class experience. With such an exciting beginning, we will fly high to further develop our program with many Masters aboard," says Omar Sangare, artistic director of the United Solo Festival.

Space is limited and spots are filling up quickly. Theatre artists interested in taking the class can sign up at www.unitedsolo.org/us/uedu and more information about Pau Aran Gimeno can be found at his website: www.pauaran.com.
