Theater RED Brings Angela Iannone's THIS PRISON WHERE I LIVE To The Tenth Street Theatre

Continuing their 2018 season, Theater RED revisits the 19th century's most cherished Shakespearean actor, Edwin Booth, for another Milwaukee premiere. Written and directed by Angela Iannone, and featuring Theater RED alumni and Chicago-based actor and playwright Jared McDaris, "This Prison Where I Live" marks the second collaboration between Theater RED and Iannone as a playwright and director, after 2015's critically acclaimed The Seeds of Banquo.

This Prison Where I Live recalls Edwin Booth, the first superstar celebrity in the world of theater, as he rehearses his production of Shakespeare's Richard the Second. As he readies himself to play, the ghosts of his past, including that of his notorious brother, interrupt his rehearsals with their own requests and mock the crown of America's "Prince of Players."

The run of This Prison Where I Live will last three weeks, with performances at 7:30pm on August 24th, 25th, 29th, 30th, and 31st and September 6th, 7th and 8th and matinee performances at 2:00pm on August 26th and September 9th. All performances will take place at the Tenth Street Theatre (home to In Tandem Theatre), located at 628 N 10th St, Milwaukee, WI 53233. The lobby offers refreshments during intermission, and before and after the show. Running time is around two hours, including a fifteen minute intermission. Tickets cost $18 and will be available starting August 3rd at www.theaterred.com

In addition to the performance dates above, we will have a Preview on Thursday, August 23 at 7:30 PM and a Pay What You Can performance on Monday, August 27 at 7:30 PM. We will also have Talk Backs with the cast and Director/Playwright following the performances on 8/24, 8/30, 8/31, and 9/7 and Pre-Show Playwright Previews on Sundays before the matinee performance (1:00 PM on 8/26 and 9/9).

About Theater RED: Founded in 2013 by local actors Christopher Elst and Marcee Doherty-Elst, Theater RED is a registered LLC that produces theatre in southeastern Wisconsin.
