The Theatre Project is proud to announce Cold Reads, an Off-Broadway, new play development lab premiering at The Players Theatre this February. Cold Reads has been created to develop and promote contemporary Off-Broadway productions.

On January 4, 2012, The Theatre Project announced four finalists and plays utilizing social media as a platform. The selected plays are: "Lysistrata Rape Play" by Mariah MacCarthy, "Skin and the November Sky" by Stephen Spotswood, "The Butcher" by Gwydion Suilebhan and "House Afire" by Sean Pomposello.

Every Wednesday during the month of February, a play will be presented to a panel of top industry leaders and to the audience for a chance to be awarded a 5-month development cycle, developed for an Off-Broadway Limited Engagement at The historic Players Theatre. The other three plays will be work-shopped through The Theatre Project's and featured in the company's new Off-Off-Broadway MicroFest.

Cold Reads will begin its series of readings Wednesday, February 6 at The Players Theatre and run on Wednesday nights through February 27. For tickets and additional information, visit TheTheatreProject.org.
