The Directors Company Seeks Submissions For microMUSICALS

The Directors Studio, an arm of The Directors Company, announces New Performances in their UpClose! Series, which encourages the presentation of original small-scale musicals. This new series welcomes innovative material that challenges the status quo in both subject matter and execution.

This series, microMUSICALS, encourages the creation of small-scale musicals. The new series seeks diverse voices and innovative material that push the boundaries of traditional musical theatre forms.

microMUSICALS is looking to present completed, artist-driven, self-contained, unique and intimate productions that would benefit from a limited-run New York premiere showcase: specifically interested in shows driven by small casts, limited to 1- 4 performers. Musicals produced outside of New York City are encouraged to apply.

TDC has a long history of work in musical theatre. TDC credits include the development and non-profit production of the off-Broadway iconic musical Bat Boy. the company also originated the development of numerous original musical works in its Harold Prince Musical Theatre Program, under Mr. Prince's artistic guidance.
