Award-winning playwright Jonathan Josephson (Milwaukee Rep, Humana Festival) and director Jonathan Harper Schlieman (Actors Theatre of Louisville) have announced their latest collaboration: the east coast premiere of The Giant and The Pixie, fairy tale for grown ups. The play received its world premiere at Chance Theater in Anaheim, CA where it received a StageSceneLA award for Best Ensemble. The play was also named as a Finalist for the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference.

"The play has been updated, re-imagined and reworked since it's world premiere," said Josephson. "The play was well received in its initial production but I am extremely excited for east coast audiences to get a chance to experience this more dynamic version."

This is the Jonathans third collaboration. The first time they worked together was last year on Josephson's Grandpa and the Gay Rabbi - Schlieman directed that production in the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Play Festival where it was named as one of the festival winners). Their most recent collaboration was on the short play "Phone Friend" as a part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival; the play is slated for a second production with the Unknown Artists (Los Angeles CA) later this fall.

About the play:
With giants mopping floors and trolls patrolling the roof, Northside Plaza is not your typical shopping mall. Arthur is a conscientious giant who works by day as a janitor - trying to win the heart of Cipriana, an executive, who also works in the mall. Sebastian - the hotheaded knight - is not happy with this and wants to get rid of Arthur, but Arthur's buddy Gregory (the "troll with a soul") won't have anything of it. All the while Cipriana's father, the magician, watches from a distance with an agenda of his own.
