TALES OF A MYSTERIOUS LAND Ends Alden Theatre's 08-09 Kids Series 6/6

The Alden Theatre's 2008-2009 McLean Kids Series will end with Tales of a Mysterious Land by Applause Unlimited of Richmond, Va. The performances will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 6. Tickets are $12, $8 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.
The company will perform three stories that demonstrate the rich ethnic diversity of Chinese folklore. Narrated and performed with hand puppets, rod puppets, masks and simple props, The Story of Long Hair Girl, The God of Faces, and The Story of the House are sure to stir the heart and stimulate the imagination. The performance is appropriate for children age 4 and older.A puppet workshop with Applause Unlimited will follow the performance at 3:30 p.m. Tickets for the workshop are $8 per child (ages 4 and older). The child must be accompanied by parent. Siblings are not allowed without a paid workshop ticket. Participants will build an articulated rod puppet from sticks, string, beads, paper and glue. Child must be able to color, cut well with scissors, and use glue.Tickets are on sale now!
