Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street" will be released on Blu-Ray in October by Dreamworks Home Entertainment.

In this big-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's award-winning musical "Sweeney Todd" Johnny Depp stars in the title role as the Demon Barber of Fleet Street who "shaved the heads of gentlemen who never thereafter were heard from again." Joining Depp is Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett. The cast also includes Alan Rickman, who portrays the evil Judge Turpin, who sends Sweeney to prison and Timothy Spall as the Judge's wicked associate Beadle Bamford and Sacha Baron Cohen is a rival barber, Signor Adolfo Pirelli.

Presented in a 1080p high definition transfer, the release will also offer up a Dolby Digital 5.1 TrueHD audio track as well as Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. While no extras have been announced for the release yet, it is a safe bet to expect the bonus materials form the DVD Special Collector's Edition on this release, potentially complemented by one or two Blu-Ray exclusive features.

"Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street" has been scheduled for October 21 with a $39.99 suggested retail price.
