Stable Cable Lab Co. continues their third season developing and producing cutting-edge new work by joining forces with Arethusa Speaks, a theater arts and educational outreach group focused on raising awareness of violence against women, to present '#WHATIWASWEARING', a "Chuck Mee-style deconstructed fashion splash that gets you to consider just why you make the decisions you make about clothing your body and how this topic is trending down deeper than you'd believe," according to co-directors Mark Kennedy and Colie McClellan. '#WHATIWASWEARING' will be presented as a workshop production in rep with the world premiere of 'Because I Said So' (working title) written and directed by Max Baker, and produced by Stable Cable at the Wild Project in March and April of 2015.

'#WHATIWASWEARING' will be devised with Stable Cable company members under the co-direction of Arethusa Speaks co-founders Colie McClellan and Mark Kennedy, exploring why we so often ask the question what was she wearing? Why do you wear what you wear when you wear it? What does it mean to wear what you wear when you wear it? And what right do we have to make assumptions about you based on what you wear? Expect piles and piles of clothes and lightning fast costume changes. Expect hashtag research and denim demolition. Expect all the baggage of fashion and function and sex and gender and race and identity and everything in between, pulsing like your Twitter feed, frenetically disassembled.

'Because I Said So' (working title) is a black comedy following the lives of Don and Carol, a young blue-collar Cleveland couple trying to navigate starting a family at the end of the 1960's. On the night Neil Armstrong becomes the first man to step on the moon, Carol's water breaks; on New Year's Eve 1969, their babysitter has drunk all their champagne and is passed out on the couch. But these problems are only a facade in an era of shifting gender roles and social conflict that crept into homes all across America.

The cast of 'Because I Said So' includes Stable Cable ensemble members Lisa Jill Anderson, Brian Edelman, Breanna Foister, Kate Garfiled, Jon Mulhearn, Ian Patrick Poake, Samantha Strelitz, and Kara Young.
