Scarlett Johansson & Sam Rockwell Set for Upcoming 'Lunatic at Large' Flick

Stage and screen stars Scarlett Johansson and Sam Rockwell are set for the upcoming movie Lunatic at Large according to Production Weekly. The movie is based on a treatment written by Jim Thompson and the late Stanley Kubrick.

Lunatic at Large is set in New York City in 1956 and centers on a temperamental ex-carnival worker and his relationship with a woman he picks up at a bar.

No further details about the creative team, production timelines or additional casting have been released to date.

Sam Rockwell is currently starring alongside Christopher Walken in A Behanding in Spokane on Broadway. Additional theatre credits include the Labyrinth Theatre Company's The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman, Face Divided, and Mike Leigh's Goose-Pimples. He has also appeared in The Dumb Waiter and Hot L Baltimore for the Williamstown Theatre Festival, both of which were directed by Joe Montello. Films include Moon, Everybody's Fine opposite Robert DeNiro, Betty Anne Waters opposite Hilary Swank and The Winning Season. He will next be seen in Iron Man 2 opposite Robert Downey Jr. Additional film credits include: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Snow Angels, Welcome to Collinwood, David Mamet's Heist, Charlie's Angels, The Green Mile, Galaxy Quest, Frost/Nixon, Joshua, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Matchstick Men, Woody Allen's Celebrity; Michael Hoffman's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Lawn Dogs, Safe Men, Jerry and Tom, Box of Moonlight, Drunks; Light Sleeper, Last Exit to Brooklyn, and his feature film debut in Francis Ford Coppola's Clownhouse.

Scarlett Johansson recently made her Broadway debut in A View From The Bridge. Johansson made her professional acting debut in Sophistry alongside Ethan Hawke off-Broadway. She is a four-time Golden Globe nominee and BAFTA winner. Film credits include The Man Who Wasn't There, Lost in Translation, Match Point, The Girl with the Pearl Earring, He's Just Not That Into You, The Spirit, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and The Other Boleyn Girl, among many others.  She will next be seen in Iron Man 2 starring Robert Downey Jr. In May 2008 she released her album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, a collection of Tom Waits covers featuring one original song and recently released a duet album Break Up with Pete Yorn.
