The "Valerie Salgado Episode" of Actor's Next Level answers the question dancers around the globe are begging to be answered: How do I get on NBC's Smash? The hit musical-in-a-musical-in-a-TV-show production is a favorite among dancers, musical theater performers and the Broadway elite. Host/producer Jewel Elizabeth interviews assistant choreographer Valerie Salgado to get the scoop.

"Valerie was an amazing guest--open, honest, and direct," says Elizabeth. "Which is exactly what I want for Actor's Next Level. The point here is to demystify the audition process for actors." When asked about taking class with her or lead choreographer Josh Bergasse, Salgado says, "Of course come to class. Without an agent, it's the only way we'll meet you. But, come up to the front! People are always afraid to come to the front in class, but that's where we can see you!"

Other tidbits in the episode include what kind of credits you need to be considered, if singing ability is a major factor, and if having an agent is necessary for snagging an audition. The episode is the eighth in the bi-weekly series and can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUpp_druL7M.

The episodes on ANL's YouTube channel are around 5 minutes in length, shareable and absolutely free. Each episode is a one-on-one Q & A with an influential industry guest. New episodes of Actor's Next Level premiere every other Tuesday.
