The broadcast is also part of special programming celebrating PBS flagship station THIRTEEN's 50th anniversary (9/16/62).

Get preview of the documentary, including stories behind images of Monroe in the nude, Monroe's blowing white halter dress in The Seven Year Itch subway grate scene, and Monroe's relationship with Arthur Miller, in the videos below!

American Masters Marilyn Monroe: Still Life surveys Monroe's life story through photographs -- her iconic face, her expressions and her poses -- featuring interviews with Norman Mailer, Hugh Hefner, Gloria Steinem, photographers Arnold Newman, Eve Arnold and Elliott Erwitt, and others. Arguably, the most photographed person ever, Monroe's unique relationship with the camera produced an enduring body of work that still dazzles and moves us, evoking both desire and pathos.

For 50 years, THIRTEEN has been making the most of the rich resources and passionate people of New York and the world, reaching millions of people with on-air and online programming that celebrates arts and culture, offers insightful commentary on the news of the day, explores the worlds of science and nature, and invites students of all ages to have fun while learning. THIRTEEN is America's most-watched public television station. For videos and more, visit www.thirteen.org/50.
