Taking a page from the GLEE book, AMC's Mad Men are trying their hand at musical performance, beginning with a rendition of Bye Bye Birdie from the musical classic of the same name.  Production is gearing up for the hit show's fourth season on April 12, 2010, but there is no word as to whether any musical clips will make the broadcast episodes. Matthew Weiner's Mad Men, set in the 1960s, centers on Don Draper (Jon Hamm), creative director at Sterling Cooper advertising agency and a founding partner at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, as well as those in his life in and out of the office. Also starring Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, John Slattery, Christina Hendricks, January Jones, Michael Gladis, Aaron Staton, and Rich Sommer, the show depicts the changing social mores of 1960s America. The show airs Sundays at 10pm EST on AMC.

Since its debut, the series has garnered an Emmy® Award for Outstanding Drama Series; two Golden Globe® Awards for Best Television Drama Series; a Peabody Award; a Producers Guild Award; two Writers Guild Awards; AFI Awards for one of the Top 10 OutstandingTelevision Programs of 2007 and 2008; both the 2008 BAFTA Award and Royal Television Society Award for International Program; and four Television Critics Association Awards, including Program of the Year.
