This morning, March 14, Jujamcyn President Jordan Roth stopped by MSNBC's Morning Joe to talk about the recent Broadway boom. According to the most recent stats, the 2010-2011 season saw a record high of 12.5 million in ticket sales, and this season has seen box office grosses up by 6.7% this season. Click below to hear Roth's theories on why Broadway is flourishing despite a struggling economy, and how Broadway business could be an indication of an economy on the upswing.

Roth is the President of Jujamcyn Theaters whose Current Productions include The Book of Mormon, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and Jersey Boys, among others. He also created Givenik.com, where theatergoers can purchase discounted tickets and give 5% of their ticket price to the charity of their choice. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC), Freedom to Marry, Young Patrons of Lincoln Center Theatre, and the Horace Mann School, of which he is an alumnus.
