Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents (in order of speaking) Nathan Lane (Estragon), Bill Irwin (Vladimir), John Goodman (Pozzo) and John Glover (Lucky) in a new Broadway production of Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett and directed by Tony® award winner Anthony Page.
Waiting for Godot opens officially on Thursday, April 30th, 2009 at Studio 54 on Broadway (254 West 54th Street). This is a limited engagement through July 5th, 2009.
Lane, most recently on Broadway in November, is a two-time Tony winner--for The Producers in 2001, and for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum in 1996. Other Broadway credits include Butley, The Odd Couple, The Frogs, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Guys and Dolls, Wind in the Willows, Merlin and Present Laughter. He has been seen on screen in Nicholas Nickelby, the Stuart Little films, Love's Labour's Lost, The Birdcage, Jeffrey and more; he also leant his voice to The Lion King.
David Letterman marks his 25th year in late night comedy on Feb. 1, 2007, and this year also marks his 14th year as the host of the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN on CBS. After more than 4,500 late night broadcasts, he remains one of the most influential personalities in the history of television. Other than the late Johnny Carson, who hosted "The Tonight Show" for 30 years, no late night host comes near Letterman in longevity, critical praise and award recognition. Often imitated but never matched, Letterman presents, night after night, an unpredictable hour of innovative comedy.
