Gold medal-winning gymnast Gabby Douglas publicly revealed her love of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES this week, after she received a congratulatory Twitter shout out from the show's executive producer, Julie Plec. The 16-year-old responded, "Awww thank you soo much!!! Btw this is one of my FAVORITE SHOW! #TheVampireDiaires #Guessappearance? [sic] lol :) <3."

Now the cast of the CW's horror series is returning the love by filming a video in which they offer their congratulations on her gold medal achievement at the Summer Olympic games. In the video posted yesterday, cast members from the show, including Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, also wish Douglas good luck in today's balance beam final.

"We heard you're a big fan of The Vampire Diaries," Wesley says. "We'd like to congratulate you and the U.S. women's team on your gold medal." "All of us are big fans of you too," added Somerhalder. "We want to wish you and Aly [Raisman, Douglas' teammate] good luck on Tuesday," Dobrev concurred. "We're really going to be pulling for you here at Mystic Falls."
