On April 8, 1992, Jerry Mitchell and six of the hottest dancers on Broadway danced on the bar at SPLASH, NYC to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. They raised $8,000. Nineteen shows later BROADWAY BARES has raised over $6,000,000. This spring dancers are getting together in the spirit of that first BARES to add even more fun to this year's fundraising. Broadway Bares: Classic, part of the "Solo Strips" series featured Bares creator and executive producer Jerry Mitchell, who performed on the stage of Splash, where he first created the event in 1992. Others who came out to bare (mostly) all for charity included Jennifer Cody (Shrek The Musical), Steve Geary (Contact), Sebastian LaCause (The Rocky Horror Show) and Rachelle Rak (Fosse).

The evening featured the work of choreographers Mitchell, Christopher Harrison, Andrew Pacho, Denis Jones, Peter Gregus, Nick Kenkel and Rachelle Rak.
