The Stage Directors and Choreographers Workshop Foundation, Inc. (SDCF) announces a call for proposals for the SDCF Guest Artist Initiative Program, a grant program for American colleges and universities to fund and facilitate the hiring of professional stage directors and choreographers as Guest Artists. Through this program, SDCF has already funded eight productions across the country and has facilitated several additional productions.

All American colleges and Universities are welcome to apply. Two proposals will be chosen to receive a grant between $2000 and $6000 plus free facilitation services from SDCF. Three to four other proposals will receive free facilitation services. An SDCF panel comprised of professional directors and choreographers, arts administrators, and college educators will select the winning proposals.

To be eligible for this grant, the project must be produced by an American college or university located in the United States, be mounted by December 31, 2016, and be fully funded. It is not required for the producing school to have hired guest artists in the past. Projects for which the Guest Artist has already been selected are ineligible.

Eligible schools interested in applying for the SDCF Guest Artist Initiative Program can access the Guest Artist Initiative Application and Guidelines at http://sdcfoundation.org/opportunities/guest-artist-initiative/ beginning March 9, 2015. Please make sure to download the form before filling it out. Completed applications plus any additional application materials must be sent to acoby@sdcfoundation.org by April 9, 2015 at 12pm EST. We encourage early application as no applications will be accepted after this date. The selected schools will be notified by September 1, 2015.
