Richard Cardillo's INVISIBILITY Comes to FRIGID Fest

Richard Cardillo, six-time Moth Slam champ and recently featured storyteller on World Channel/PBS TV's Stories From The Stage, performs at this year's FRIGID Festival with his solo show, Invisibility: A Journey of Pasta, Prayer, Protest, and Peru. Rich debuted this piece at a sold out run in June at The Tank for Pridefest 2018.

Invisibility recounts Rich's Odyssean journey from living his life as a celibate monk to evolving into an extremely vocal gay activist. Rich takes us on this magical, mystical, multicultural ride through his "holy-roller" Italian-American childhood, his youth and young adulthood trying to "pray away the gay" by taking a vow of celibacy, his 10 years of missionary work in Peru, and, his navigation of gay life in 1990's New York City. The show culminates with his very powerful return to visibility resulting in his civil disobedience arrest inside Trump Tower. With equal measures of celebration, sadness, self-discovery, and sex antics, Invisibility will take all on an unforgettable journey.

Rich Cardillo (playwright and performer) is a lifelong resident of the Lower East Side and has been an educator for over 30 years. He has performed Invisibility to sold-out audiences during Pridefest in June 2018. He has recently been featured on World Channel/PBS TV's Stories from the Stage and is a six-time Moth Story SLAM champ. Rich has performed multiple times on Kevin Allison's RISK! and featured on the Best of RISK! #12 podcast last year. He has appeared throughout New York City in myriad shows such as The Liar's Show, Yum's The Word, Pros(e) of Pie, and Story Collider.
