Rental Gallery Presents 'LA Friends: Part 1' And 'LA Friends: Part 2'

Rental Gallery has announced two new group exhibitions, LA Friends: Part 1 and LA Friends: Part 2. The gallery will host a reception in celebration of both openings on Saturday, June 23 from 6-8PM.

On the first floor of the gallery, visitors will find LA Friends: Part 1, featuring the work of long-time friends Roger Herman, Becky Kolsrud and Freddy Kunath. The three participants artistic careers first crossed paths when Roger Herman was both Becky Kolsrud's and Tif Sigfrids professor at UCLA. Their networks intertwined when Kolstrud began to work for Freddy Kunath who, just like Herman, is an expat from Germany living in East LA - "LA Friends."

The second floor of the gallery will house LA Friends: Part 2, curated by dealer Tif Sigfrids, a former Los Angeles dealer who recently relocated her gallery to Athens, Georgia. The exhibition will include works by artists Andy Giannakakis, Gracie DeVito, Joe Sola, Christina Forrer, J.P. Munroe, and Adrienne Rubenstein.

LA Friends: Part 1 and LA Friends: Part 2 will be on view at the gallery through July 25.

Rental Gallery began in 2004 in Los Angeles as a way to bridge the New York and West Coast art communities, as well as to provide a venue for flexible and experimental programming, both by local curators and gallerists, and those from out of town. For more information, visit rentalgallery.us.
