ROCKSHOW explores one fictionalized night in the rock n roll career of real-life NYC band Group Therapy. Combination rock concert and play, ROCKSHOW explores the inner workings of a band on the brink of success. Tensions mount and insecurities rise as the relationships within the band are pushed to their limits. Are they good enough? Are they young enough? Will they make it? A live, no-holds-barred, behind-the-scenes look at the music biz, ROCKSHOW is a shot of pure rock theatre with an adrenaline chaser.

Hailing from Chicago, composer/musical director Chris Blisset has played in rock bands Voodoo Buss and Captain Hero that achieved windy city notoriety, enjoying several appearances on shock jock Mancow Muller's show, and at Chicago's famous club Metro. He works as a music director, actor and guitarist. He is currently on break from Stand By Your Man: The Tammy Wynette Story.

Writer Paul Stancato was recently seen in the Lyric Opera s Candide, directed by Harold Prince and he studied improvisation with Mick Napier at Second City. In the music world, Paul was the drummer for popular band, Voodoo Buss. New York theatre credits include Blue Man Group and the original New York cast of De La Guarda. He adapted and directed Einstein s Dreams, which garnered the Best Direction Award at the 2001 NY Fringe Festival. He is a member of Lincoln Center s Director s Lab and holds an M.F.A. from University of Florida.

Director James Alexander Bond has directed numerous productions Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, internationally and regionally, including The Pearl Theatre Company s The Merry Wives of Windsor (Critic s pick New York Times and Time Out). Next, he will direct Candide for Muhlenburg Music Theatre (PA) James holds a BFA from Ithaca College and an MFA in Directing from the University of California at Davis. He is a member of The American Renaissance Theatre s Director s circle and he is the director of the Hell s Kitchen/Clinton Theatre Company.

ROCKSHOW features the band Group Therapy: Carlos Bermudez (lead vocals), Chris Blisset (guitar), Merideth Kaye Clark (bass) and Paul Stancato (drums). Additional cast includes Darren T. Mangler, Gina Nigido and James Ellsworth.

This 2 day only special event includes guest concert appearances by some of today s hottest artists including The Spin Doctor's lead singer Chris Barron and Alice Ripley playing tracks off her upcoming new CD.

ROCKSHOW will play Wednesday January 19th and Thursday January 20th at 8:00 PM at The Club EL Flamingo, located at 547 E. 21st Street.
