WhatsOnStage.com reports the news that George Clooney would be eager to star in a West End show if he was presented with the chance.

Speaking to UK Metro correspondent Neil Sean, the Ocean's 11 star said: "It would be swell (to do a show in the West End), but no one has actually offered me one".

WOS reminds that he'd be following in the footsteps of such fellow film actors as Nicole Kidman, Josh Hartnett and Christian Slater in taking to the West End stage.

George Clooney is on of the most celebrated actors in the world. He launched his career in stage appearances such as in VICIOUS at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago in 1987 and with his role on the television monster hit ER in 1994. Clooney has gone on to star in such films as Batman and Robin, Three Kings, Oceans 11, 12 and 13, Syrianna and Michael Clayton. He has also directed and produced numerous films including Confessions of A Dangerous Mind and Good Night, and Good Luck.

Clooney can be seen on the big screen in Fantastic Mr Fox and The Men Who Stare at Goats.
