Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that there's "good buzz" coming out of a reading earlier this week of Neil Simon's The Sunshine Boys, produced by Roundabout, that starred Elliot Gould and Richard Benjamin and was directed by Lonny Price. Riedel says to look for the production this fall.

“The Sunshine Boys,” is a play by Neil Simon that was produced on Broadway in 1972 and later adapted to both film and television. This comedic tribute to vaudeville is sparkling with humor and a large dose of honesty. The show revolves around Al Lewis and Willie Clark, their forty-three year partnership as the legendary act known as Lewis and Clark ended in anger and resentment.

The two have not spoken to each other for eleven years. It is now 1972 and CBS is inviting the team to reunite to perform their most famous sketch for a TV special on the history of comedy. The big question is will the two get their act together long enough to pull it off, without killing each other first?
