Photo Flash: Have A Ball with CINDERELLA at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre

It's the story that takes one girl from pauper to princess and captivated little girls everywhere for generations. Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre's Pyramid Players present the classic fairy tale Cinderella live on stage select dates starting Feb. 17.

This Prince Street Players production of Cinderella is a magical retelling of the beloved story in a tuneful, fast-paced English pantomime-style comedy.

A godmother, of the fairy variety, inquires of her two helpers about the neediest case in the kingdom. Not surprisingly, they introduce her to Ella, who, after being orphaned, was left in the care of her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. Forced to use the kitchen as a bedroom, Ella can often be found daydreaming among the cinders from the fireplace, inspiring her stepfamily to rename her "Cinderella." Wand in hand, Godmother sets about to change the girl's life. With a dash of belief, a sprinkle of magic and a pinch of true love, Cinderella has her life changed for good.

Emily Hollowell stars in the title role, while Rebecca DeVries McConnell reprises her role as the Fairy Godmother. The stepmother is played by Vickie Cornelius Phipps, with Lauren Morgan as Gertrude and Julia Garber as Henrietta, the stepsisters. Will Leonard is Prince Charming, Ken Klingenmeier is King Darling, and Leonard D. Harris Jr. and Gideon Chickos round out the cast as the Helpers.

The production is directed and choreographed by Jennifer Ladner, with Kristy Templet as musical director.

Cinderella is the first production in the 2018 Live Theatre for Kids series at Beef & Boards. Pyramid Players productions are one hour in length and presented without intermission. Performances are for all ages, but offered particularly for children in preschool through sixth grade. Children have the opportunity to meet the cast after each show for pictures and autographs.
