Photo Flash: First Look at Actors' NET of Bucks County's JULIUS CAESAR, Begin. 4/25

William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar is getting a modern look at the Heritage Center Theatre as the Actors' NET of Bucks County stages this classic play about power and corruption.

Performing weekends April 25 through May 11, The NET's Julius Caesar is offering this often required reading masterwork with a special discount for students, age 13 and older. College students are asked to show identification.

Director Aaron Wexler of Philadelphia has opted to present the play in modern dress, explaining he believes "giving Shakespeare a contemporary setting allows the audience to better connect to the universality and timelessness in his works."

Jim Ludovici of Philadelphia costars as Brutus alongside George Hartpence of New Hope as Caesar, John Bergeron of Hopewell as Mark Antony and John Pinto of Yardley as Cassius. Also included in the cast (alphabetically) are Jack Bathke, David Burr, Chris Capitolo, Matthew Cassidy, Greg Davis, Kyla Mostello Donnelly, Andrew James Gordon, John Helmke, Jeffrey Hufnagle, Timothy Kirk, Cat Miller, Maryalice Rubins-Topoleski (who is also the show's producer), and Carol Thompson.

The production's set design is by Ken Junkins. Hayley Rubins-Topoleski is the production stage manager.

Wexler summed up his excitement over directing Julius Caesar, noting, "I am fascinated by the notion that we are telling the story of a man who lived 2000 years ago -- written by a man who lived 400 years ago -- and then interpreted through our modern filter. This one play links together recorded human history like no other."

Julius Caesar performs weekends April 25 - May 11. Show times all three weekends are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults, $17 for seniors (62+), $15 for WHYY card members, teens, and college students with ID, and $10 for children age 12 and younger.
