Photo Flash: Carmen in Rehearsals at La Jolla

San Diego's La Jolla Playhouse will present a new version of Carmen from June 5 - July 22, 2007.  The show is currently in rehearsals.

"Dazzling imagery, original Flamenco music and dance infuse this passionate tale of the gypsy enchantress first introduced in Prosper Mérimée's novella.  A new musical adaptation directed by Cirque du Soleil director Franco Dragone," state press notes.  Carmen stars Ryan Silverman as Jose and Janien Valentine in the title role.
