Stephanie J. Block appeared in her one-woman show "Block Party!" at Birdland on Monday & Tuesday, June 26 & 27 at 7pm.
Stephanie J. Block has starred on Broadway as Liza Minnelli in The Boy From Oz and as Elphaba in the national tour of Wicked. In October, she will be portraying Grania O'Malley, the Pirate Queen, in the pre-Broadway production of The Pirate Queen in Chicago.
"She brings her dazzling one-woman show to Birdland for the third time, and in addition to singing standards and beloved Broadway songs, performed a rarely heard ballad cut from Wicked, swinging duets with musical director/performer Billy Stritch and a medley of '60s songs," state press notes.
