Photo Coverage: ONCE ON THIS ISLAND in Loving Color

SNAP! Productions under the direction of Michal Simpson and Omaha South High Magnet School under the direction of Rebecca Noble collaborated on an amazing production of the Tony-Award winning musical, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND. The hugely successful production has earned the rave reviews throughout the Omaha metropolitan area. I am only sorry that the show cannot go on, because we all love to hear this story!

Little Ti Moune (Poet Lewis) is found in a tree after a flood by Tonton Julian (Japrice Green) and Mama Euralie (Emily Jane Moore). They make room in their humble home for her.

The French Grand Homme, Armand (Ryan Savage) settles on the French Antilles island, and sires descendants with his peasant servants.

The Demon of Death, Papa Ge (Xavier Carr) wants to take Armand's descendant, Daniel's life.

Asaka, Mother Earth (Zhomontee Watson) will provide for Ti Moune, no matter what.

Erzulie, Goddess of Love (Echelle Childers) believes love is more powerful than death.

Agwe, the god of Water (Justin Blackson) and little Ti Moune (Poet Lewis). Agwe sends a storm, causing Daniel to crash his car.

Ti Moune (Regina Palmer) discovers Daniel and nurses him back to health.

An impossible love between a Grand Homme, Daniel (Matthew Carter) and a peasant girl (Regina Palmer).

Ti Moune (Regina Palmer) learns that Daniel is to be married to Andrea (Kate Madsen), who is from the wealthy class of the island.

Andrea (Kate Madsen) dances and tells Ti Moune to dance, hoping to shame her.

Ti Moune (Regina Palmer) dances in her native style.

Papa Ge (Xavier Carr) offers to spare Ti Moune's (Regina Palmer) life in exchange for Daniel's.

Ti Moune (Regina Palmer) cannot harm the man she loves.

Asaka (Zhomontee Watson) carries away Ti Moune (Regina Palmer).
