Broadway's long running hit Mamma Mia! celebrated 5,000 performances at its new home at The Broadhurst Theatre with a special performance yesterday, November 9th. Check out a look back at the celebration with the cast, crew, and creators below!
Carlo's Bakery, the setting of the smash hit TLC television show "Cake Boss," has custom designed and created the "Mamma Mia! 5,000th Confection" presented to the company on stage by celebrity baker Mauro Amato. Carlo's Bakery has locations throughout New Jersey and operates the Cake Boss Cafe in conjunction with Discovery Communications at the corner of 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue in New York City. Audience members of the landmark performance may present their ticket stub from the November 9 performance at The Cake Boss Cafe and receive 20% off in-store purchase. Valid through 11/11.
Inspired by the story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs and directed by Phyllida Lloyd, Mamma Mia! is Judy Craymer's vision of writer Catherine Johnson's sunny, funny tale of family and friendship unfolding on a tiny Greek island. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings 3 men from her mother's past back to the island they had last visited 20 years ago. Songs including "Dancing Queen," "The Winner Takes It All," "Money, Money, Money" and "Take a Chance on Me" are all featured in this feel-good night of fun and laughter.
