Performance Rights For OH MY GODMOTHER Have Been Released
The performance rights for OH MY GODMOTHER!, the award-winning musical comedy that has taken the San Francisco Bay Area by storm, have just been released for regional theatre and limited amateur productions.
Creator Ron Lytle (Book, Music, Lyrics) says, "I've been enormously gratified by the response to the various productions in the San Francisco Bay Area, and now--thanks to the recent release of the Original Cast Album--we've been receiving inquiries to license the show from across the country--and even around the world. It's very exciting!"
Lytle continued: "With the economy in such a dour place right now, several companies have written to say that their audiences are asking for light-hearted comedies and toetapping musicals. Oh My Godmother! is a twofer!"
Oh My Godmother! tells the hilarious story of Albert, a young gay man living in San Francisco who dreams of escaping his homophobic stepmother and stepsisters. Fate intervenes in his search for true love when he meets the dashing it-boy Prince. Toss in Prince's parents (the reigning queens of Castro Street), a fabulous Fairy ‘Godmother,' lots of zany humor, snappy dialogue and syncopated showstoppers--and it's clear to see why Oh My Godmother! has become a record breaking, must-see sensation.
