The 2004 Off-Broadway hit bare will receive a studio recording later this year.

Produced by Deborah Lurie and Casey Stone, who worked on the award-winning bare world premiere in Los Angeles, the recording will reflect the release of the score for licensing by Theatrical Rights Worldwide. John Ottman, Theatrical Rights Worldwide and Jonathan Tessoro will be its executive producers.  The CDs ordered through the bare album website feature a "Navigate This Maze: The Making of bare" documentary produced by Warm Butter Productions and directed by Janice Lester.  The album will not be an original cast recording, but rather a studio one featuring different performers.  The planned release date is September 25th, and performers will be announced around August 15th.

bare features a book by Jon Hartmere and Damon Intrabartolo, music by Damon Intrabartolo and lyrics by Jon Hartmere.  The album will feature vocal direction by Eric Anderson and orchestrations and arrangements by Deborah Lurie.  bare, which ran at the American Theatre of Actors (Chernuchin Theatre) from April 19th through May 27th, 2004, originally starred Michael Arden, Jenna Leigh Green, Kaitlin Hopkins, Aaron Lohr, Natalie Joy Johnson and more.  bare is a musical comedy-drama that follows the romantic entanglements and emotional growth of a group of students at St. Cecilia's Boarding School.  Although its run was relatively short, the musical - which premiered in Los Angeles in 2000 - acquired a substantial cult following.
