As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Cynthia Nixon was set to star in Douglas Carter Beane's AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN in the West End, which had been scheduled to open in London in July of this year. Nixon appeared in the original 1997 New York production of the play. The production had been repeatedly delayed due to financing issues and today, the UK Daily Mail reports that the West End production has been cancelled.

According to the report: "Cynthia, 44, had intended to move to the capital to play the lead in Douglas Carter Beane's play As Bees In Honey Drown...But just weeks before the cast were due to start rehearsing, the play has been scrapped after the financing collapsed."
