Acclaimed New York actress Niffer Clarke (Bells Are Ringing, Adding Machine) presents her debut solo album, "Beyond the Ingenue", to be released on December 3rd. Produced by Twice As Alive Productions and Richard Carsey, the album is an homage to the women she grew up wanting to be - Julie Andrews, Shirley Jones and Barbara Cook - and their inspiration on the singer-actress's own voyage of self-discovery and revelation.

These musical theatre icons weren't afraid of redefining the girl-next-door, transforming the ingenue -- both as characters and as actresses. They sparked in Niffer as a young girl the desire to be an actress. And they are still inspiring her to raise her voice -- and to have the courage to transform, redefine and reinvent herself.

"It has been an incredible journey, putting this album, and the one-woman show it is based on, together," says Niffer. "These women, my childhood idols, changed the meaning of 'ingenue' for me -- and helped me to see myself and the characters I've been fortunate to play in a different light. They've helped me see beyond the traditional definition of the musical theatre ingenue. And as they moved beyond the ingenue roles in their careers and navigated life's circumstances, they've reinvented themselves. Redefining. Reinventing. Recreating. They continue to be an inspiration to me and where I am in my life right now."

"Beyond the Ingenue" is currently available at NifferClarke.com and is available at all online sources including iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby and DigStation starting Dec. 3rd. This debut CD is a glorious way for Niffer to say thank you to Julie, Shirley and Barbara for taking her and all of us Beyond the Ingenue!

"How sweet it is to have one's music 'tributed'
by a songstress as young and talented as Niffer Clarke."
-- Shirley Jones
