On Wed., Feb. 24, 2010 Arts Leaders from all corners of New York State will meet lawmakers in Albany to make the case for protecting the New York State Council on the Arts budget. Arts leaders and advocates will explain and demonstrate how state funding for the arts revitalizes communities and families and how this investment contributes to the economy and social vitality of the entire state.

Advocates will check in at Arts Day Headquarters in Hearing Room A in the LOB where they may attend Arts Day Briefings at 10am led by Judith K. Weiner and others, hear remarks by Assemblyman Steve Englebright, Senator Jose Serrano (the respective chairs of the arts committee in both houses) and pick up Arts Day buttons, briefing papers, talking points, charts and graphs documenting history of NYSCA funding.
