New York Chamber Music Festival Set To Take Place 9/13-20 At Symphony Space

The inaugural season of the New York Chamber Music Festival (http://www.newyorkchambermusicfestival.org)  will take place September 13-20, 2009 at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway at 95th St ).

The Principal Brass Quintet (Musicians of the New York Philharmonic) will kick-off the festival week on September 13 (4:00PM), with a program that runs the gamut from baroque to jazz and everything in between. The Turtle Island Quartet will perform their Grammy-winning John Coltrane program "A Love Supreme" on September 14 (8:00PM). Superstar violinist Rachel Barton Pine will make her long-awaited New York recital debut on September 15 (8:00PM), performing works by
Pisendel, Mendelssohn, Corigliano and Liszt.  Metropolitan Opera musicians will perform chamber music on September 16 and 17 (both days at 8:00PM), in programs including two New York premieres (Gernot Wolfgang's Piano Quartet "Metamorphosis" and Vernon Duke's 1949 Violin Sonata). Internationally renowned cellist Antonio Lysy will make his New York recital debut on September 20 (7:00PM), accompanied by legendary French pianist Pascal Roge, in a program which includes the New York premiere of Lalo Schifrin's 2009 "Pampas".
