'New Voices,' with Arcelus, Alan, Etc., Plays April 16

The third season of the acclaimed "Monday Nights, New Voices" series continues April 16 at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre.

Sebastian Arcelus, who stars in Broadway's smash hit Wicked, hosts the evening, which features the talents of Erik Sisco, Seth Rettberg, Nick Spangler, Jonathan Reid Gealt and Zak Resnick. Show time is 7 PM.

Scott Alan, the producer of the series, will fill in as guest composer of the evening, replacing previously announced Michael Rupert and Matthew Riopelli, who needed to pull out as this months composers due to scheduling conflicts.  Alan will accompany the performers on selections from his songbook.  Barbara Anselmi is the musical director.  Katie Thompson will be the evening's special alumni guest.

Composer Scott Alan launched the "Monday Nights, New Voices" series to "showcase some of today's brightest new talent in New York."

Sebastian Arcelus is currently plaing leading man Fiyero in Broadway's hit musical Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre. He recently appeared on  Broadway as Jan in Good Vibrations and as Roger Davis in Rent. Other credits include The Full Monty, Hamlet - A Rock Opera, Caligula, Aida, Floyd Collins, and the world premiere of William Finn's Songs of Innocence and Experience.  Film/TV credits include "Temptation," and he is the voice of 'Papi' on Nickelodeon's "Go, Diego, Go!"  He is a proud graduate of Williams College.

Scott Alan wrote the book, music and lyrics for the musical Detour. Stars including Stephanie J. Block, Alison Fraser, Liz Callaway, Billy Porter, Shoshana Bean, Jonathan Groff, Lauren Kennedy, Lisa Brescia, Kerry Butler, and Julia Murney, among others, have performed his music. His love for theater brought him back to New York where he is currently producing 'Monday Nights, New Voices' at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre, which is now in its third year.
