Anika Larsen (All Shook Up, Xanna, Don't!), who currently appears in Broadway's Xanadu, is among the co-founders of a new theatre company.

According to press notes, "Unbounded Theater is a family of theater artists--actors, directors, writers and designers--who have come together to promote mercy, beauty, and truth through performance and service."

"Unbounded is a member-based company dedicated to compassionate action, authentic storytelling, collaboration, diversity, and play.  They seek to create great theater in an environment where artists thrive, and serve the community through theater outreach and partnerships with relief organizations."

The founding members of Unbounded Theater are April Nickell (Managing Artistic Director), Anika Larsen (Associate Artistic Director), composer Nils Olaf Dolven, sound designer Mike Farfalla, lighting designer Stuart Nelson, costume designer Andrea Varga, and actors John Harrison, Amanda Hunt, Joshua Henry, Kevin Smith Kirkwood, Telly Leung, Nicole Lewis, Kelly McCreary and Eileen Rivera.

Unbounded Theater's service side is already up and running, with monthly performances of a radio play at assisted living centers. Unbounded is currently developing outreach programming for public schools and afterschool programs, with an eye toward expanding their theater outreach to places like hospitals, veteran centers, prisons, and throughout the world.

Unbounded Theater's first performance, a benefit called, "Songs From Serenade," will take place on June 18 and will feature selections from Rachel Sheinkin (Spelling Bee, Striking 12) and Nils Olaf Dolven's new musical, Serenade, which will also be Unbounded's first mainstage production in the fall. The fundraiser will be held on Monday, June 18th, at 5:00 and 8:00 PM at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). There is a $25 minimum donation.  For reservations or information, please email info@unboundedtheater.org.
