New Rock Musical SOUL SEARCHING to Play Concert at NYC's Nuyorican Poets Cafe

With mind-blowing, immediately hummable music and lyrics by Avi Kunstler - with a concept, story, music and lyrics by Matt Okin - SOUL SEARCHING follows Brenda, a content and single New Yorker living on the Upper West Side, who somehow finds herself in a comedic and poignant search for her 'soul-mate' with help from three married friends, all engulfed in relationship troubles of their own.

Starting in January 2004, SOUL SEARCHING wowed audiences throughout the Tri-State area and beyond in sold-out workshops, productions, and in-concert presentations at Theater for the New City, The 45th Street Theater, the Times Square Arts Center, and two appearances in the New York Musical Theater Festival. Additional concert versions soon hit NYC venues as varied as The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, The DR2 Theater, D-Lounge, Bowery Poetry Club, Drom, The Tank, and more. Now, for the first time since September 2009, an updated and revised SOUL SEARCHING - produced by Teaneck, NJ's premiere cutting-Edge Theater The Black Box Performing Arts Center - finally returns, starting re-development for new audiences in a new era.

This in-concert workshop presentation features the musical talents of Brennen Dopwell, Brody Greif, Ben Shablatt, and Jon Taub, and a cast of Black Box PAC mainstays: Sam Cancelarich, Allison Falkenstern, Michael Gardiner, Nachi Lederer, Danielle MacMath, Esti Mellul and Bishon Prushankin, under the direction of Matt Okin.

Soul Searching will play for two nights only: Thursday March 15 at 9PM and Tuesday March 27 at 7PM at the NUYORICAN POETS CAFE, located at 236 East 3rd St. New York, New York 10009. General admission: $18. For advance tickets please contact The Nuyorican Poets Cafe at www.nuyorican.org, or for further information call Black Box PAC at
