New York University graduate student Andrea Watson has teamed up with general manager Bailie Slevin of Halo Askew Entertainment to put on a benefit concert April 28th to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in conjunction with their upcoming half marathon run. The benefit, "Do What You Can" is about every person contributing in their own way to the cause.
Many Broadway and Off-Broadway performers have lent their talent to this worthy cause including our musical director Matt Hinkley, currently conducting ROOMS at New World Stages.
Other performers include:
Jennifer Babiak (Broadway's Fiddler On The Roof), Brad Bass (Broadway's Wicked), Danny Beiruti (North American Tour of Cats), Kevin Haden, Robyn Elizabeth Lee, Peter Horn, Michelle Pruiett (Broadway's The Little Mermaid), and Andrea Watson (who is running the marathon for LLS).
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. We have invested more than $600 million in research since 1949 - over $71 million in 2008 - specifically targeting leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Last year alone, LLS made 6.3 million contacts with patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals. To donate directly to Andrea's campaign please visit team.haloaskewent.com.
