Loving
With producer Sarah Green in person
FRIDAY, JANUARY 20, 2:30 P.M.
Dir. Jeff Nichols. 2016, 123 mins. DCP courtesy of Focus Features. With Ruth Negga, Joel Edgerton. Loving is a touching, beautifully realized dramatization of the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who married in the late 1950s and were arrested for miscegenation in Virginia. Their case led to a landmark case that ended at the Supreme Court. As the modest couple whose case helped advance civil rights in the United States, Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton give two of the year's most acclaimed performances. Producer Sarah Green will participate in a discussion after the screening.
Free admission. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The screening takes place in the Redstone Theater at Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35 Avenue, Astoria, NY 11106. Gallery admission will be free all day, from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., an extension of the Museum's usual Free Friday hours, which are from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. (Ticket fees still apply for evening screenings).
