Brian Stokes Mitchell, Joanna Gleason and David Henry Hwang will be among the members of the 2006-2007 Tony Award Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee "attends all productions during the Broadway season, and meets on the date designated by the Administration Committee to determine, by vote, the Tony Award nominees for that season."

As previously announced, the 2007 Tony Awards will take place on June 10th.  The cut-off date for eligiblity is May 9th, and nominations will be announced on May 15th.

The Nominating Committee is as follows:

Robert Callely, Theatre Executive
Ben Cameron, Program Director for the Arts of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation
Betty Corwin, Retired Director of the Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts
John Dias, Producer, Dramaturg, and Educator
Mercedes Ellington, Choreographer
Sue Frost, Producer and Company Manager
Joanna Gleason, Actress
Andrew Jackness, Scenic Designer
David Henry Hwang, Playwright
Betty Jacobs, Script Consultant and Theatre Historian
Robert Kamlot, Retired General Manager
Todd London, Artistic Director of New Dramatists
Brian Stokes Mitchell, Actor
Peter Neufeld, Former General Manager
Phyllis Newman, Actor, Writer and Lyricist
Lynn Nottage, Playwright

Of the preceding individuals, Benincasa, Callely, Dias, Frost, Gleason, Hwang, Jacobs, Newman, Suskin and Viola are new additions to the Committee.  They each begin a three-year term.
