Patriot Act Presidential Road Trip 2016...Live! is pleased to announce the New York premiere of two-time FringeNYC winning solo performer Mike Schlitt's PATRIOT ACT, as part of the 20th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC performing on Friday August 19 @ 2:00pm, Sunday August 21 @ 3:45pm, Wednesday August 24 @ 9:15pm, Saturday August 27 @ 9:15pm, and Sunday August 28 @ 5:15pm at Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company (70 East 4th Street - Lower Level -- Bowery & 2nd Avenue). The $18 tickets are available at FRINGENYC.ORG.

PATRIOT ACT is a comedic theatrical roller-coaster ride through United States' history and an invitation for audiences to activate their citizenship and let their voices be heard in a celebration of art, advocacy, action (+ puppets).

Writer/Performer Mike Schlitt, an upbeat, inspirational TED TALKing, white male of privilege, stumping for America, can restore anyone's faith in American Democracy in just 47 minutes. He starts a countdown clock, then proceeds to tell his tale with the help of puppet sidekicks, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. Mike exposes the gap between the promise of America and it's' flawed execution. When the clock runs out, he asks the audience to choose sides for a rabble rousing, free-wheeling audience-driven "Raucous Caucus". Discussions on activism, democracy and governance ensue, seeds are planted--participatory democracy is hard at work.

PATRIOT ACT Presidential Road Trip 2016...Live! is one disgruntled American's bold attempt to experience democracy in action. In 2016, Mike Schlitt embarks upon a national electoral listening tour, traveling the country as we select our next President. It's an experiment in performance, journalism, civic participation, and intimately sane conversations in (sometimes) insane circumstances. Through radio commentary, public debate, podcasts, democracy salons, voter registration drives and a live interactive performance of the show PATRIOT ACT, Mike is exploring our shared histories, learning what the 99% think of our Democratic process, and figuring out exactly what it means to be an American citizen today.

PATRIOT ACT is campaign managed by Ashley Sparks and Kevin Corstange, spin doctored by Michael John Garcés and Mark Valdez, with coalition advisment by TraCy Young and image consulting by Shawn Stoner.
