Michael Ingersoll Cast as Nick Massi in Jersey Boys Tour

Michael Ingersoll, a Chicago-based actor who recently starred in
tick, tick...BOOM! for the Pegasus Players, will play Nick Massi in the upcoming national tour of Jersey Boys, according to the Chicago Sun Times.Ingersoll will take on the role of the bass singer, who is played on Broadway by J. Robert Spencer.
The Jersey Boys tour will kick off in San Francisco this December, and was also recently announced to play Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre from May through July 2007. More dates and cities will be announced, as will casting for the remaining three Four Seasons stars.
Ingersoll will next appear (opposite wife Angela Ingersoll) in a Chicago production of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change at the Metropolis Theatre. Other regional credits include and Carousel, Oklahoma!, Sweet Charity and Sweeney Todd. Jersey Boys is "the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, and how this group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sound and sold 175 million records worldwide all before they were thirty," according to press notes. The show won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical.
