Metropolitan Performing Arts (MPA) Mainstage will present Footloose the Musical at the Magenta Theater . This musical about community and perception features an Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score, augmented with new songs. This production will feature teens from the MPA Mainstage performance program with a few adult actors. MPA trains actors young and old in the performing arts through classes and performance programs by industry professionals. Footloose features a cast of 31 actors from the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR areas. All of the teen actors are a part of the Mainstage performance program, which prepares teens aged 13 through 18 years old to one day audition for a full Broadway-style production.

Directed by Shanae Tullis with musical direction by Melissa Sondergeld Hood and choreography by Shannon Jung. "Underneath the energy and iconic music is a very human story about grief, control, and the need to be understood, particularly between young people and the adults in their lives. My hope for this production is to honor the joy audiences expect from Footloose while also letting the emotional depth of the story linger long after the final song." says Shanae Tullis, Director.

Performances of Footloose will take place May 8,15, 22 at 7 p.m., May 9,16, 23 at 6:30 p.m., and May 10,17, 24 at 2 p.m. at the Magenta Theater located at 1108 Main Street, Vancouver, WA 98660. Tickets are $30.00 with special pricing for Military/Students/Seniors. Tickets available at the Metropolitan Performing Arts website or by calling the Box Office at 360-975-1585.
