Marisa Tomei, Alison Pill in Talks for Sorkin's HBO Pilot

According to Deadline.com, Marisa Tomei and Allison Pill, who are both currently starring on stage in MARIE AND BRUCE, and THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES respectively, are in talks to join Jeff Daniels in Aaron Sorkin's HBO series: MORE AS THE STORY DEVELOPS. Sorkin's long-developing drama, set behind the scenes at a nightly cable news show. 'Social Network' producer Scott Rudin will reunite with Sorkin for the project, which will be executive produced by both. Filming on the pilot will not begin until later in the year.

Tomei has starred on Broadway in Wait Until Dark (1998) and Oscar Wilde's Salomé (2003) alongside Al Pacino and Dianne Wiest as well as many Off-Broadway plays. Tomei came to prominence as a supporting cast member on The Cosby Show spinoff A Different World in 1987. After appearing in a few films, her breakthrough came in 1992 with the comedy My Cousin Vinny, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Following other films, Tomei appeared in the cult film, Slums of Beverly Hills in 1998.

Pill recently starred as April, a college student who discovers she has cancer, in the HBO series In Treatment. She played Annie Sullivan in the Broadway revival of The Miracle Worker from February 12, 2010, to its closing date, April 4, 2010. In the same year she appeared in the American film adaptation of the Canadian comic book series Scott Pilgrim, portraying drummer Kim Pine.

Sorkin has been raking in awards and nods for his "Social Network" script and is considered a front-runner for the adapted screenplay Oscar. If that does happen, he'd follow the path of Alan Ball, who created the HBO drama series "Six Feet Under" after winning a writing Oscar for "American Beauty".

Sorkin is a screenwriter, producer and playwright, whose works include A Few Good Men, The American President, The West Wing, Sports Night, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and most recently The Social Network. His theatre writing credits include A FEW GOOD MEN and THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION.
