The Manhattan School of Music will present an honorary Doctoral Degree in Musical Arts to Angela Lansbury at its May 14th graduation ceremony. The commencement will take place at Riverside Church at 2 pm. Robert Sirota, the school's President, will bestow the honor onto Lansbury.

Manhattan School of Music's 84th commencement ceremony will be honoring 374 graduates and undergraduates on May 14. In addition to Lansbury's honorary degree, Arkady Aronov and Orin O’Brien will receive the Presidential Medal for Distinguished Faculty Service.

The five-time Tony Award winning actress can be seen in her latest Broadway role; the revival of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. Recently, Lansbury was nominated for a 2010 Tony Award for her role in the show, giving her a chance to break her tie shared with Julie Harris for the most Tonys won. Lansbury's fifth Tony Award was just last year for her performance in the play, BLITHE SPIRIT.
