MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 LIVE Comes to New York After an incredible tour in 2017, "Mystery Science Theater 3000" announced the MST3K Live 30th Anniversary Tour across U.S. cities this October and November. The Anniversary Tour features, for the first time in 25 years, original host and MST3K creator Joel Hodgson back in the red jumpsuit as Joel Robinson and riffing alongside new MST3K host Jonah Heston (Jonah Ray). Joel, Jonah and the Bots will be live onstage with all new riffs and sketches and two movies never before seen on MST3K, The Brain and Deathstalker II (previously announced as Deathstalker).

Joel says, "We're shifting gears from Deathstalker to Deathstalker II and we're really having fun working on this new film. Deathstalker II is a completely different movie than the first one. It's got an all-new cast, a different style, and a much more buoyant tone. There are still some things that we'll edit out naturally, but it features a couple strong female leads, who are treated like actual characters in the movie and not just things that are pillaged and plundered. To parents who may be wondering if they should bring their kids, just like our Netflix series, which is TV-14, rest assured, we try to maintain the same tone and quality in our live shows as well.
I just wanted to let you know, in case you already bought a ticket, or knew about the content in Deathstalker, and were concerned about how we'd handle the offending elements. Also, I gotta tell you - I can't wait to get out there and do some movie riffing again in the red jumpsuit as Joel Robinson, with Jonah, Tom, Crow and Gypsy!" The Mystery Science Theater 3000 Live 30th Anniversary Tour consists of two separate, completely unique shows, each with its own admission, so fans who want to see both shows will need to purchase two tickets, one for each show. Each event will include all the things expected from an MST3K experience: a cheesy B-movie, hilarious riffing, wisecracking robots, silly sketches, plus - for the first time - Joel and Jonah riffing together side-by-side. Both shows feature movies never before seen on the MST3K series. Show # 1 is The Brain, a Canadian science fiction suburban nightmare. Show # 2 is Deathstalker II, a princess, sorcerer and sword epic complete with clones, Amazons and mysticism. Tickets for Mystery Science Theater 3000 Live 30th Anniversary Tour are on sale now via AXS.com and the venue box office. Please note where there are multiple performances in a single market, each event is ticketed SEPARATELY.

Following its record-breaking #BringBackMST3K Kickstarter campaign, the inaugural new season of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" launched on April 14, 2017, exclusively on Netflix and earned a critics' rating of "100% Fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes. The New York Times hails, "At last, a revival of something actually worth reviving... a different cast but the same outlook and style - and mercifully, the same reliable, giddy humor." "MST3K is just as hilarious as ever in rebooted form, turning its bemused eye on old, schlocky fare for some good, old-fashioned riffing," raves Vanity Fair. And Nerdist says, "The references are updated, the sets are snazzier, but the heart and soul of MST3K certainly remains intact." In November of 2017, it was announced that Netflix was renewing the series, and the second season will air "in the not-too-distant future."
