MEET THE PRESS WITH CHUCK TODD Tops Key Demo for 37th Straight Broadcast

Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo this past Sunday, October 14, according to Nielsen Media Research data. This marks MTP's 37th straight win in the demo most valued by news advertisers, its best streak in over 18 years (since October 15, 2000).

MTP topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits in the key demo. 833,000 A25-54 viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +32 percent (+204,000) more than ABC's This Week and +22 percent (+149,000) more than CBS' Face the Nation. Compared to last week, MTP grew by +15 percent (+110,000), its highest demo viewership in four weeks (since September 16, 2018). Week over week, MTP increased its lead over ABC by +59 percent (+75,000) and CBS by 8X (+130,000), marking its biggest lead over ABC in eight weeks (since August 19, 2018). Compared to last year, MTP improved its advantage over ABC by +30 percent (+48,000) and CBS by 3X (+100,000).

Sunday's broadcast featured interviews with former CIA director John Brennan and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) who said that US' "moral credibility" will be "undermined and compromised" if we don't call out Saudi Arabia for Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance. The broadcast also featured interviews with Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and Missouri Republican Senate candidate Josh Hawley.

2.969 million total viewers tuned into MTP, topping ABC in total viewers for the 19th straight broadcast: +10 percent (+271,000) more than ABC. Compared to last year, MTP narrowed the total viewer gap with CBS by +55 percent (-131,000 vs. -290,000 last year).

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo for the third consecutive year.

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers for more than three straight years (since March 22, 2015).

An additional 1.180 million total viewers and 439,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.

Earlier this month, MTP held its second Meet the Press Film Festival in Collaboration with the American Film Institute (AFI) in Washington, D.C. Watch the short-length political documentariesonline or on-demand now until November 4.
